Cleaning

Here are 16 vinegar cleaning tips to help you have a tidy place.

1. Cutting Boards:

Almost all types of cutting boards can be cleaned with vinegar. No need to mix water. Pour vinegar on the board and rinse to clean. This will make cutting boards bright as new.

2. Refrigerator:

The walls and shelves of the refrigerator can be cleaned by applying a solution of half water and half vinegar. Gently rub the shelves and walls for a few minutes to make your refrigerator new again.

3. Coffeemaker:

Fill the water chamber of your coffeemaker with half water and half vinegar. Turn on the brew cycle and let it run for half cycle. Turn off the coffeemaker after running halfway through and let the solution sit in the chamber for at least one hour. After an hour, turn on the coffeemaker and complete the cycle. Then run at least two complete cycles with clean water. This will remove all the stains from the chamber.

4. Microwave:

Here is a nice and easy way to remove all the stains from inside the microwave.
Fill a bowl with half water and half vinegar. Place it in the microwave and turn it on. Let the solution boil (you normally have to microwave it for 3 to 5 minutes). Clean the interior of the microwave with a dry cloth.

You can clean drains easily by pouring vinegar into them. After an hour, pour clean cold water in the drain.

6. Floor:

Vinegar has the potential to clean almost all types of floors except marble and wood. Fill a bucket with 75% warm water and 25% vinegar. Clean floor with this water for a shiny and clean floor, free from all types of stains and marks.

7. Carpet:

After shampooing the carpet, you can use a solution of water and vinegar to remove soap deposits. Here is how to do it. Add half cup of vinegar in one gallon of water. Use this solution to rinse the carpet. Make sure that you only apply this solution after shampooing the carpet.

8. Carpet Stains:

Are you sick of stains on your carpet? Well, you can easily get rid of all the stains from your carpet without using any fancy carpet cleaner. Take ¼ cup salt and add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Mix them to create a mixture. Apply this paste on the stain gently, and let it dry (leave it overnight). Remove the paste next day.

9. Toilet:

Pouring at least a bowl of pure white vinegar in the toilet bowl will clean it, and will make it look new. Do not use the toilet after pouring vinegar into the bowl. It is a good idea to leave it overnight. Clean the toilet next day to make it tidy.

10. Wood Furniture:

Here is a nice and easy way to condition, clean and renew your wooden furniture. Take a cup of olive oil. Add ¼ cup vinegar with the olive oil. You can also add a couple drops of lemon (not necessary, though). Mix the solution and apply it on wooden furniture. This will clean and condition all types of wooden furniture. Refrain from using this solution on non-wood furniture.

11. Bathroom:

Vinegar is the best cleaning agent for bathrooms. It can remove urine stains and remove all types of odors. Use straight vinegar to clean bathroom. Just pour the vinegar on the floor, bathtub, toilet, and at other places. Let it sit for a few hours then clean with water. This will make your bathroom new as ever.

Vinegar Cleaning Tips

12. Electrical Appliances (Including Computer):

One of the easiest ways to clean computers, printers, and other electrical devices is to use vinegar. Create a solution of 50/50 vinegar and water. Take a piece of cloth and damp it in the solution. Squeeze the cloth to remove the liquid. Use it to wipe clean the outer surface of any electrical device. You can use the same cloth (and solution) to clean keyboards.

13. Pen Marks:

Ballpoint pen marks on desks or even walls can be removed with the help of vinegar. In this case, you can use straight white vinegar to get rid of all the marks. Dip a piece of cloth in the vinegar and rub on the area that needs to be cleaned. Keep repeating until the mark vanishes.

14. Candle Wax:

This is one of my favorite vinegar cleaning tips that I recently found. Vinegar and water solution can be used to remove candle wax from all types of surfaces. Here is the complete procedure to be followed. Use blow dryer on its hottest setting to warm up the wax build up. Try removing as much wax as you can with the help of tissue or a paper towel. Warm wax can be removed easily. After the major portion of the wax has been removed, now use vinegar and water solution (50/50) to remove the residue and the mark. Dip a cloth in the solution and rub on the wax. Keep repeating until all the wax is removed.

15. Stainless Steel:

Stainless steel (and even chrome) fixtures can be cleaned with straight white vinegar. In this case, you have to spray vinegar on the item and then buff gently with a soft cloth to make it shiny and bright.

16. Universal Cleaner:

Finally, here is a super-simple way to create your universal cleaner that can be used to clean pretty much anything and everything that you have in your home or office.

Here is how to do it.

Create a solution by adding one cup vinegar, 4 cups of warm water, 2 teaspoons borax, up to 10 drops of any essential oil that you have, no more than 5 drops of dish soap, and up to 10 drops of tea tree oil.
Mix the solution and save for later use.

I hope these 16 vinegar cleaning tips will help you make your home a much nice and clean place to live.
